Responsibilities

  • Legal basis/ mandate
  • Conducts its activity according to the Law on Energy, No. 174 of September 21st 2017, Law on petroleum products market No. 461-XV of July 30th 2001; Law on electricity No. 107 of May 27th 2016, Law on natural gas of May 27th 2016, Law No. 303 of December 13th 2013 on public water supply and sewerage service and Law No. 160 of July 22nd 2011 on regulation through authorization of the entrepreneurial activity No. 160.
  • Responsibilities
  • Drafts and approves regulations, methodologies and other normative acts. Responsible for the approval of prices and tariffs for electricity, natural gas, district heating and water supply and sewerage services. Responsible for standard gasoline and diesel retail price setting. Licensing and monitoring the activity of electricity, natural gas, district heating systems, water supply and sewerage service and petroleum products. Developing and approving all the secondary legislation for electricity, natural gas sectors, district heating and water supply and sewerage service. ANRE also conducts State Energy Supervision. Promotes the protection of consumers rights and their legal interests as well as handles customer complaints.
