Краткое описание семинара
ERRA is introducing an intensive 2-day educational workshop specifically designed for experts working in electricity markets who want to understand and learn more about a very important function performed by transmission system operators: balancing electricity markets and the involved ancillary services.
This function plays a crucial role in ensuring security of supply and has an important effect on the final cost to consumers. Efficient balancing can also deliver environmental benefits by reducing the need for backup generation. Integration of national balancing markets could contribute to enhanced security of supply and to decreasing electricity prices so there is a strong argument for developing cross border balancing markets. Thus, there is a strong need for harmonizing national balancing rules and using ancillary services in order to extend efficient competition and to increase efficiency.
Presenters of this extensive educational program will strive to introduce definitions, objectives and responsibilities of balancing markets. The planned network codes will be presented in detail followed by an introductory presentation on the various elements of ancillary services. The program will close with a forecast on the possible evolution of balancing systems. The theoretical presentations will be supported by lively case studies presented by experts from regulatory and transmission system organisations.
The Workshop is recommended predominantly to regulators, but participation is open to utility companies, banking institutions, consulting companies etc.
