General information about Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP
Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP is a successful company in the energy sector on the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The KUS group is represented in Karaganda, South Kazakhstan and East Kazakhstan regions.
The group of companies Kazakhstan Utility Systems implements its own Development Strategy, which corresponds to the state policy in the field of energy. The main factors for the development of KUS are: modernization of existing assets, construction of new electric grids, expansion of generating and power transmission capacities, and customer orientation of marketing companies.
KUS LLP includes two CHPs of the city of Karaganda – CHPP-1 and CHPP-3, as well as Ust-Kamenogorsk CHP and Sogra CHP in the regional center of East Kazakhstan region. Last year, at the Karaganda CHPP-3, as part of the investment program, a new power unit was commissioned. It enabled generating a quarter more electricity and heat. This event gave a new impetus to the development of the economy of the whole region. The increase in the capacity of the station allowed placing new energy-intensive production facilities in the Karaganda region. Small and medium businesses received additional energy support. Taking into account the additional input, Karaganda CHPP-3 reached a capacity of 670 megawatts. For today it is the largest thermal power plant of the republic.
As its priority, the KUS Group sees the use of innovative solutions at its production facilities, a scientific, innovative approach and optimization of energy costs. This applies to all, without exception, subsidiaries that are members of the holding Kazakhstan Utility Systems.
Thus, Karagandy Zharyk LLP, specializing in the operation of electrical networks, commissioned new large substations and introduced an automated monitoring and accounting system to the end user (ASKUE). The modernization of transformers, external electrical networks was carried out to create and provide a reliable power supply system.
Ontustyk Zharyk Transit LLP, focused on transmission and distribution of energy in the South Kazakhstan region, introduced an automated database system and consumers (ASBIP) to provide technical conditions for the fastest possible identification of connection points. New substations, power lines for power supply of new microdistricts of the city of Shymkent and its suburbs are put into operation. In the affiliated marketing organizations of the South Kazakhstan region and Shymkent, new contact centers were opened.
The group of companies Kazakhstan Utility Systems employs about 11 thousand employees. The international rating agency Fitch Ratings in 2016 confirmed KUS LLP long-term issuer default ratings in foreign and national currency at the level of “BB-“. The agency also assigned the domestic energy company a national long-term rating of “BBB + (kaz)”. The forecast on the ratings is Stable.
In 2016, during the International Festival-Contest “Choice of the Year No. 1 in Kazakhstan”, Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP was recognized as “Energy Company of Kazakhstan No. 1 – 2016”.
Today, Kazakhstan Utility Systems LLP is one of the TOP-4 largest energy companies in Kazakhstan.
