Licensing and Competition Committee Meeting in Warsaw, Poland

On May 10-11, 2016 in Warsaw ERRA organized its Licensing/Competition Committee Meeting, attended by 25 member regulators.

The meeting was hosted by the Energy Regulatory Office, Poland (ERO), Poland. The main topics of the Committee Meeting were:

  • Roundtable Discussion: Licensing/Competition Updates by Committee Members
  • Regulatory support of the electricity market liberalization; retail electricity market – Effective DSO unbundling
  • Shared services between the unbundled companies (information and different infrastructures) – Regulation, implementation, and monitoring
  • Information on the Georgia-Lithuania Expert exchange project implemented within the framework of the ERRA Member-to Member projects
  • Proposal for simplified procedure licensing wholesale traders in ERRA member states – Warm up the previous discussions
  • Presentation on the results of the ERRA Database on Operating Wholesale Market Monitoring Network
  • Regulatory monitoring of network companies and suppliers – Methodology, best practices and recommendations
  • Presentation of the Position Papers prepared by ERRA Intern:
    • System Effects of Intermittent Renewable Generators – Balancing
    • Overview of the Energy Storage Possibilities to Support the Electric Power System
  • Presentation on the ERRA Innovation Report
  • Regulatory support of the electricity market liberalization; retail electricity market – Procedure determining/ designation of the supplier of last resort
  • Information on the data collection processes between Committee Members: Request from EMRA on Wind Energy Legislation
