Polish Energy Regulatory Office has a new President
On July 24th Polish PM Mateusz Morawiecki has appointed the new President of the Energy Regulatory Office (URE) for a 5-year term. The position was granted to Mr. Rafal Gawin, who has been working for the past 10+ years at the Office as the deputy head of Markets Development and Custmer Issues Department. The nomination was handed over by Polish Minister of Energy Mr. Krzysztof Tchorzewski, who has in parallel thanked to the predecessor for his service. Former President Bando`s term has come to an end in the beginning of June.
Mr. Rafal Gawin has extensive experience from the Polish regulator but also from the EU Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER), where he worked in 2013. He had graduated from Gdansk University of Technology and National School of Public Administration in Warsaw. The new President has been chosen in the second open tender, as the first one did not reveal the winner.
