Recent ERRA Reports and Publications
Over the past few weeks ERRA has published some reports and publications that might be of interest and relevance to you. Some of these materials are related to ERRA’s new project called Member-to-Member Projects.
The purpose of these projects is to enhance cooperation among member organisations and to contribute to the possible formation of collaborative regulatory initiatives. The projects may be undertaken in different formats such as exchange programs, twinning or ad hoc „mini” consultancy exercises. You will find more information below.
During the Energy Regulatory Innovation Day, which took place on May 12-13 in Poznan, Poland, ERRA has published a paper with the title “Innovation and Energy Regulation”. The paper aims to introduce the industrial tendencies, the required new smart technologies and innovative operation models together with their necessary regulatory support. The main focus is on new innovative technologies (e.g. smart metering, smart grids, storage, e-mobility and demand side response) with the potential challenges of deployment and the benefits of using them. On the occasion of the ERRA General Assembly, the Association compiled a document called Member Profiles with the purpose to briefly introduce our member organisations and their markets. The document can be downloaded here.
The ECOWAS Regional Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERERA) requested ERRA for support in developing their Administrative Procedures for Regulation (APR). The purpose of APR is to formalize the process by which ERERA develops and issues regulations and other rule making processes and to address other actions of ERERA such as issuance of licenses, permit, approval notices and procedures for Public Hearings and Dispute settlement. In the framework of Ad Hoc ERRA Member Projects a Twinning Project between the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) of Turkey and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) of Macedonia was sucessfully implemented through two visits of the teams. Main topics of the programme were: (1) Investment Costs In Natural Gas Market (2) Loss target rates for DSO’s in Electricity (3) Market Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) Calculation.
