ERRA-MEDREG Joint Training Course: Economic and Technical Aspects of the Deployment of Renewable Energy Sources (RES)


Main themes of the Training Course:

  • Climate change policy issues, economic outlook of renewable technologies, technical issues of network/system connection and affordability issues of support mechanisms
  • Economic and technical problems countries face when RES starts getting a relevant share of the electricity market; revision of the support mechanisms to ensure the necessary flexibility of the grids to accommodate intermittent resources and generation adequacy
  • Financing renewable energy investments
  • Investment opportunities on renewable energy in mediterranean countries
  • RES-E regulatory tasks related to grid integration: Impact on system operators
  • Regulatory tools to support RES: Evaluation of policy schemes
