The 7th High-Level Meeting of Regional Associations of Emerging Markets
The 7th High-Level Meeting of Regional Associations of Emerging Markets took place in Istanbul on 30 November 2018, hosted by ERRA.
Started in 2013, this is a yearly high-level roundtable meeting for representatives of regulatory association from emerging economies of the world. Its purpose is to create a high-level platform for regulatory associations representing the so-called emerging economies.
Participants to this edition included representatives from ARIAE, ERERA, ERRA, MEDREG, who exchanged on the latest developments in the associations’ activities and the new developments of regulation in their respective countries.
In March 2018, participant associations signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support each other in improving the attractiveness and stability of their markets for energy investments, foster consumer protection and promote universal access to sustainable energy.
OOCUR, the organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators, joined the meeting for the first time and expressed its willingness to join the MoU and benefit from the cooperation among fellow regulators of developing markets.
