Chairman, Regulatory Office for Network Industries (ÚRSO), Slovakia

Andrej Juris has been heading Slovakia's Regulatory Office for Network Industries (URSO) since July 2020. His professional vision is an effectively communicating national regulator that ensures fair prices, protection of energy poor and vulnerable consumers and the promotion of innovation and competition in energy solutions.

He brings to the national regulator many years of experience in the European energy environment from both the private and public sectors. His former positions include Chairman of the Board of Directors of West Slovakia electricity DSO, Vice President of NERA, a consulting firm in the US, and a consultant to the World Bank, where he worked on analysis and policy development in the area of regulation and liberalization of the network industries. He is a graduate of the Slovak Technical University in Bratislava, Princeton University in the USA, and Jacobs University in Germany.

He is convinced that systemic and transparent exercise of regulation, promotion of competition in emerging energy markets and integration of innovative solutions into the regulatory system are the right way forward and essentials for further development of network industries in Slovakia.
