Abdulwahhab Al Hinai is a lawyer with deep experience in utilities, restructuring and reforms and regulation. He has more than 15 years’ experience in regulatory bodies ending with his role as the Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs in the Authority for Public Services Regulation (Oman) in 2021. He played key roles in the development and implementation of regulatory and governance frameworks and in the restructuring and reforms of different sectors.

Abdulwahhab is currently the General Counsel of OQ, the State-Owned integrated energy company, overlooking legal, governance and compliance matters of the group. He continues to play an advisory role in regulatory-related matters and supports the development of Oman’s national champion for renewable energy, OQ Alternative Energy (OQAE). As an executive in a key energy player, he is engaged in discussions relating to energy policies and the growth and expansion of various energy projects, including international opportunities.
