The conference overarching theme will be Transforming Energy Policies and Adaptive Energy Regulation and the agenda will analyse both the electricity and gas sectors of today. In the main conference hall, the sessions will walk conference delegates through the transformation of the entire electricity value chain of the energy sector. In the breakout session room gas and nuclear energy issues will be discussed and analysed:
- Transforming demand AI and data centers, electro-mobility, smart metering and prosumers, demand flexibility and energy efficiency
- Transforming electricity generation Renewable integration, storage regulation, decarbonization pathways, capacity mechanisms, remuneration of nuclear and co-existence with renewables
- Transforming system operations Blackout and security in the era of renewable, balancing challenges, ancillary services and close to real-time markets
- Transforming transmission & distribution networks Infrastructure investment, smart grids, tariff structures, and incentive regulation
- Transforming retail supply & customer engagement Market liberalization vs regulated prices, household price regimes and subsidies, vulnerable customer protection, active customer engagement (incl energy community);
- Regulatory independence & governance challenges Independence frameworks, accountability mechanisms, multisector regulation, and enforcement powers (incl market monitoring)
- Non-tariff and tariff regulation in the gas sector in light of geopolitical changes in Europe
