Szabolcs Molnár has been preparing for a career in energy sector since he was 13 years old. He has always been motivated by the question, "What is behind the socket?" How does the generated electricity get to the "socket"? Szabolcs has degrees and qualifications in energy engineering, building energy, passive house design, and waste management. During his studies, he also attended the University of Stuttgart, where he wrote his thesis on building physics.
His professional career has always been closely linked to the energy industry. For nearly 10 years, he was a design engineer at Erőterv, where he was involved in power plant design and development. As chief engineer, he was the lead designer for numerous energy projects. Since 2020, he has been working in various positions in the production area of the MVM Group. As an advisor to the deputy CEO, he participated in the preparation of several major power plant development projects, headed the environmental protection organization of the Mátra Power Plant, and is currently the director of power generation supervision at the MVM Group.
In addition to his work, he is an active participant in Hungarian academic life. He is the director of the MVM Industrial Department at the University of Miskolc and a departmental engineer at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at the University of Pécs, Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology. Furthermore, he is a guest lecturer at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Károli Gáspár University of the Reformed Church, and the Faculty of Law at the University of Szeged. He is also the secretary general of the Energy Science Association. He is the author of numerous publications and several specialist books.
