Dimitar Zarchev is a member of the team of the Bulgarian transmission system operator ESO since 2007. He was head of the Automated Dispatch Control Systems department at the National Dispatch Center for 9 years. Since 2019, he is the Center’s director.

Over the years, Dimitar Zarchev has been actively involved with his expertise in the efforts of the Bulgarian transmission system operator for the establishment of the South-Eastern European networks security coordination center, as well as in the negotiation processes for the integration of the countries of the Western Balkans into the single European electricity market. He has contributed significantly to the achievements of the Bulgarian TSO for the development of the trans-European infrastructure and guaranteeing the security of electricity supplies in the context of transition towards climate-neutral energy sector.
