REFIT evaluation of the Directive 2009/28/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council

As part of the Commission's Better Regulation agenda, the Renewable Energy Directive was included in the Commission's 2013 REFIT programme29 in order to provide a comprehensive policy and regulatory fitness evaluation of the 2009 RES Directive. Building on the conclusions drawn from the present REFIT evaluation, the Commission intends to revise the regulatory framework on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources by the end of 2016. The present evaluation informs the Impact Assessment for this revision.
