Responsibilities
Electricity: – Establish tariffs in distribution and transmission stages; – Ensure service supply quality; – Supervise the security of infrastructure in all the stages; – Promote access to electricity. Natural gas: – Issue permits and licences; – Establish tariffs; – Promote competition; – Ensure service supply quality; – Protect grid stability; – Promote access to NG. Fuel: – Issue permits and licences; – Promote competition; – Ensure service supply quality; – Verify compliance with legal volumes in sales. Mines: – Verify compliance with legal permits and licences; – Supervise the security of infrastructure in all the stages.
Authorities
• Independence: Osinergmin is a specialized and decentralized regulatory body with technical, administrative, economic and financial autonomy.
• Reports to: Like all Peruvian regulators, it is attached to the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) and is subject to the regulatory framework issued by the Ministry of Energy and Mines of Peru (MINEM).
