Curriculum Vitae:- Born on 6 July 1964
- After graduation from university, where he studied economics, Mr Mayer studied at the Institut for Advanced Studies in Vienna (Department of Economics).
- From 1991 to 1994 he worked as a EU-trainee with the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber, where he spent 15 months working for different EU institutions and for the Austrian mission to the EU as attache for industrial and commercial affairs.
- From 1994 to 2001 he was responsible for the energy policy of the Economic Chamber. In this function he was also an expert of the parliamentary subcommittee for the passing of the Electricity Act 1998 as well as the co-author of commented editions of the Electricity Acts 1998, 2000 and Gas Act 2000.
- He wrote several articles on liberalisation of the electricity sector.
