Fabrizio Pilo received the MSC degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Cagliari in 1993 (magna cum laude) and the Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Pisa in 1998. Fabrizio Pilo is a Full Professor of Power Systems at the University of Cagliari and Vice-Rector for Technology Transfer and Innovation. He authored and co-authored more than 200 papers published in international journals or presented at national and international conferences (SCOPUS h-index is 33, top 2% of world scientists according to Stanford ranking). He is a registered professional engineer and consultant, IEEE Senior Member and CIGRE Distinguished Member, chairman of ISGAN WG 3 (International Energy Agency), and CIRED director and Session technical chairman.

He was an advisor to the Italian Regulatory Agency for Energy and several public institutions. He received more than 20 M€ grants from public institutions and private companies.
