The ERRA Summer School: Introduction to Energy Regulation is a foundational training programme that provides a thorough introduction to the principles and mechanisms of energy regulation. It is an essential resource for understanding the complexities of energy markets and regulatory frameworks, as well as the classical and newly emerging roles of energy regulators.
The programme explores a range of topics, including the structure of energy markets, tariff methodologies, the regulatory processes that ensure transparency, efficiency and fairness in the energy sector, and the tasks associated with the energy transition. Designed for professionals at the early stages of their careers or those moving into the energy field, it offers a clear and structured overview of key concepts in energy governance and policy.
The 2027 edition combines a five-day core week in Budapest, Hungary which you can attend in person or online, with four online sessions. Two introductory sessions on June 22–23 prepare you for the course, and two follow-up sessions on July 7–8 give you time for questions, consultation with instructors and an optional exercise review.
