Dr. Nasser Al-Shahrani is presently working as Chief Operations Officer in the GCC Interconnection Authority, and has more than 25 years experience in power system operations and planning.

He received his B.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum and Minerals – KSA in 1996. He has received his MBA in Business Administration from University of Bahrain-Bahrain in 2001 and received his Doctorate in Business Administration from Swiss Business school in 2018.

He is board member of GO15 , chairman of AUE Operations Coordination Committee, chairman of ITC review panel and team leader of GCC cyber security team. He is also member of Cigre SC C5 and member of GCC Operations Committee.

He has authored more than 25 papers in several regional and international Conferences, mostly in the field of system operations and market operations of power systems.
