Mirmahammadali Aslanov is Head of the Investment Department at the Azerbaijan Energy Regulatory Agency (AERA). He has extensive experience in electricity sector regulation, grid integration of renewable energy sources, and investment assessment in power system infrastructure. His work focuses on supporting the development of a stable, efficient, and future-oriented electricity system in Azerbaijan, with particular attention to renewable energy integration and system flexibility.

He has been actively engaged in the activities of the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), contributing to technical discussions and committee work. He played a voluntary role in the preparation of the ERRA E-Mobility Report, reflecting his commitment to regional knowledge sharing and collaborative regulatory development.

Mirmahammadali is an alumnus of the ERRA Certified Energy Regulator (CER) Program, which strengthened his expertise in energy regulation principles and international best practices. He has also participated in various international cooperation and capacity-building initiatives aimed at improving regulatory frameworks and promoting energy transition policies.

Throughout his professional career, he has been involved in analytical and technical assessments supporting decision-making in the energy sector, including investment planning and system development studies. His professional interests include power system integration of renewables, regulatory approaches to grid development, and cross-border cooperation in energy markets.

He is committed to fostering knowledge exchange among regulators and contributing to ERRA’s mission of supporting efficient, transparent, and forward-looking energy regulation across its member countries.
