The bill on promoting electricity generation from offshore wind farms came to force in Poland.
The bill provides rules for offshore projects’ development and puts forward a 2-phase support scheme.
The adoption of laws and regulations that concern offshore wind investments follows the main assumptions of the European Green Deal, a program that aims at European climate neutrality by 2050, as well as the EU Offshore Renewable Energy Strategy. The latter proposes to reach climate neutrality through, inter alia, heavy offshore investments in new capacity from the current 12 GW to at least 60 GW in 2030 and up to 300 GW until 2050.
