RAP Paper: Gridlock in the Netherlands
Having no grid capacity on high- and medium-voltage electricity networks seems to be the new normal in the Netherlands. Grids across the world have become bottlenecks slowing the advancement of renewables, but the Netherlands seems to have been hit by the problem particularly early and hard. The Dutch story showcases how grids can become a bottleneck for the expansion of renewables and electrification in any country with such ambitions.
