Dr. Khalil Al Hanashi is senior energy renewal advisor with Petroleum Development Oman (PDO), focusing on sustainability new energy policy and regulation, he also supports the ministry of energy and minerals as a seconded Senior Advisor for Studies and Research within the Directorate General of Renewables and Hydrogen. He

With a Ph.D. in Sustainable Energy Technologies from the University of Nottingham, UK, Dr. Khalil has 20 years of experience in the energy sector. His expertise ranges from traditional oil and gas engineering and operations to new energy business development, emerging energy technologies, technology management, technology planning, and new energy policy, regulation, and strategy development.

Dr. Khalil has made significant contributions to various national energy transition strategies, policies, and studies, including Oman’s national hydrogen economy strategy study, PDO strategy refresh, Oman national energy master plan and Oman’s energy transition policy framework.
