Nick Elms is a senior energy economist with the World Bank, working across the three sub-Saharan African power pools in support of regional power market integration. Nick has been working in the energy sector in Australasia, Europe and Africa for over 2 decades where he has advised on economic issues such as power system planning, wholesale market design, incentive regulation, network charging, decarbonization, investor due diligence, cost benefit analysis, market power and contractual disputes. Nick has a background in electrical engineering and operations research and immediately prior to joining the World Bank was Associate Director with Frontier Economics in Europe.
