Alejandro Hernandez is the Director of the India and Global Opportunities program at The Regulatory Assistance Project (RAP).
Before joining RAP, Mr. Hernandez was the head of the Renewable Integration and Secure Electricity Unit at the International Energy Agency, leading the agency’s work in market design and electricity security.
Previously, Mr. Hernandez served in the Mexican Energy Ministry from 2013 to 2017, designing and implementing an ambitious reform for the power sector.
He holds a PhD in economics from Toulouse School of Economics (TSE) in France and a BSc in economics, from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM).
