Viesturs Kadiķis is the Deputy Director of the Energy Department and Head of the Tariff Division at the Public Utilities Commission of Latvia. He is highly active in the Energy Regulators Regional Association (ERRA), where he served as the chairman of the ERRA Gaseous Fuels Markets and Economic Regulation Committee Meetings (GF COM) and the Vice-Chairman of the ERRA Natural Gas Markets and Economic Regulation Committee (NG COM). He has contributed to and authored numerous committee publications.
Viesturs commenced his professional career at the Regulator in 2006, joining the Natural Gas Division within the Energy Department as a Senior Expert. From 2008, start work in the Electricity division. Over the course of his career, he has gained extensive experience across the electricity sector, serving both as a Senior Expert and subsequently as Head of the Electricity Division, with a particular focus on tariff regulation, infrastructure and REMIT-related matters.
Since 2017, Viesturs has led the Tariff Division, with overall responsibility for the regulatory assessment and oversight of both electricity and natural gas tariffs and also infrastructure development-related matters.
Viesturs holds a Professional Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and maintains a strong commitment to continuous professional development, regularly enhancing his expertise in sector-specific regulatory and energy market issues.
