Octavian Lungu holds a Commissioner position at the National Agency for Energy Regulation, being appointed by the Parliament of Moldova for a 6-years term. As a member of the board, he approved regulations, tariffs and investments for electricity, natural gas, district heating and water supply companies. Also, he supervised public relations (communication) activities of the Regulator and cooperated with the national relevant stakeholders, as well as with the Energy Community, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and World Bank on International Monetary Fund on energy sector reform. As a consultant, he works with the European Commission and the United Nations Development Programme to strengthen the institutional capacities of public authorities in energy and transport sectors, including managing sustainable city projects. He holds a master's degree in international relations from the Public Administration Academy of Moldova, a post-graduate degree from Bucharest Technical University of Civil Engineering and an engineering degree in electronics from Technical University of Moldova.
