Shinya Nishimura is the Senior Financial Specialist and Energy Program Coordinator for Cambodia, Lao PDR and Thailand at the World Bank based in Bangkok. He began his career at Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi after graduating from International Christian University in 1994. He later joined the World Bank as a consultant in 2003, after which he developed clean energy projects globally as Investment Officer at International Finance Corporation. He re-joined the World Bank in 2008 and has since worked on energy sector reform, utility performance improvement, and investment financing of clean energy, energy efficiency and natural gas projects in Central Europe, West Africa, and East Asia and Pacific. He holds Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy degree from Fletcher School.
