Susana Sá e Melo Rodrigues holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias, Universidade Nova de Lisboa, a degree in Environmental Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Universidade Técnica de Lisboa and a postgraduate degree in Integrated Management and Waste Recovery from Faculty of Science and Technology (FCT/UNL).
With more than 20 years of professional activity in the environmental sector, in particular on water and waste, she assumed technical supervision and management positions in the public sector - central administration (National Institute of Water and Water and Waste Services Regulation Authority) and local (Municipalities), and in leading companies of water and waste sector (Grupo Aquapor and FomentInvest). She is currently head of the quality department at ERSAR – the Water and Waste Services Regulation Authority, focused on drinking water quality regulation and water and waste performance evaluation.
She participates in several regulators’ networks (ENDWARE, Regnet), she is a member of the MARE Research Centre and belongs to the group of Waste@nova Researchers at FCT/UNL.
