Michał Zapaśnik is a director of Balancing Market Monitoring Department at Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne S.A. (PSE) – Polish TSO for electricity. He manages the team responsible for:

• Design and regular update of market monitoring strategy in accordance with REMIT, ACER Guidance and balancing market character and changes,
• Performing market surveillance aimed at detecting market behaviors that may constitute breaches of Article 3 or 5 of REMIT,
• Conducting deep-dive analysis and general screens of the balancing market,
• Submitting suspicious transactions reports to the NRA,
• Cooperation with market participants in order to better understand their market behavior.

Earlier he was responsible for the centralizing PPAT functions at PSE and organizing the Balancing Market Monitoring Department.

Prior to joining PSE, Michał has worked for several years at leading business consultancies focusing on Polish power market.
