Due to geopolitical uncertainties around the world the protection of critical energy infrastructure has become more important than ever. In response to legislative changes and energy sector-specific challenges the role of energy regulators in hybrid protection is expanding. The new challenges are closely linked to cyber threats towards critical infrastructure and supply chains, which also have a major impact on the physical protection of assets. Regulators can contribute to mitigating cyber risks in the energy sector by supporting the development of cyber security maturity through timely knowledge and information sharing, using advanced learning tools and artificial intelligence-assisted reporting on cyber attacks. The purpose of the workshop is to share best practices on relevant legal approaches, applicable cybersecurity standards and knowledge sharing platforms.
The Workshop is hosted by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (MEKH).
