Pedro Antmann is a recently retired Lead Energy Specialist of the World Bank, with extensive experience of working in the areas of institutional restructuring, regulation, tariffs, electrification and management of utilities. Since 2008 he has been a member of project teams in more than 80 projects. Prior to this, he was a partner and senior consultant at Mercados Energy Markets International, a consultancy company specialized in institutional restructuring, regulation and management of the energy sector, where he conducted projects in more than 40 countries in Latin America, Africa, Europe and Central Asia, Middle East, South Asia and East Asia Pacific. Pedro served as a Director of the National Board of Energy and Deputy Minister of Industry, Energy and Mines of Government of Uruguay, in charge of energy. Pedro also worked as a General Manager at the Uruguayan state-owned vertically integrated electricity company (UTE). He is an industrial engineer by training.
