Mr. Hieromini Ireneus Shirima is a Tanzanian national. He had studied his first degree in Tanzania at the University of Dar es Salaam, Dares Salaam Tanzania, where he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Also, He studied for the Master of Philosophy - Energy Studies at the University of Cape Town, Cape Town, South Africa, and graduated with an MPhil Degree (Energy Studies).
Mr. Hieromini Shirima had joined the Tanzanian Electric Supply Corporation (TANESCO) in 1991 and served in different capacities starting from junior planning officer up to principal planning officer before being appointed by EAPP to the post of the Power Economist in 2017.
Mr. Shirima has been serving EAPP since 2017 in the capacity of Power Economist. He has been instrumental in implementing the technical capacity building process. His technical knowledge in energy studies is instrumental for implementing EAPP's institutional capacity development and gives rise to the operationalization process to reach the desired targets that realize multilateral power trade by the year 2023 as planned.
Mr. Shirima, among other things, is responsible for, economic feasibility studies required to plan and evaluate the future generation and transmission additions to the regional grid.
