Threats to global energy security coupled with national policy declarations towards net zero are putting more emphasis on nuclear generation which can provide robust and secure energy supply. During the recent COP28 the significance of nuclear energy was emphasized in the context of energy transition.
With nuclear energy gaining its renaissance into the mainstream energy supply discourse in various technical fora and discussions, ERRA has decided to address the issue and offer a platform for insightful presentations and discussions on a diverse scope of nuclear topics from the perspective of its economic regulatory standpoint. The objective of the workshop is to provide an introduction to the nuclear energy for a vast ERRA network as well as bridge those ERRA regulators who can already offer their nuclear expereinces with those who are currently expecting nuclear roll-out in their countries or anticipate it being an element of their future domestic energy mix.
The main Conference takeaways will be compiled in a post-event summary report.
Read the interview with the Forum trailblazer Dr hab. Mariusz Swora, member of the ERRA Strategic Advisory Board, where he explains the idea standing behind ERRA NERF 2024, and why should energy regulators care about nuclear energy.
ERRA Secretariat: Where did the idea of ERRA NERF 2024 come from?
Dr Hab. Mariusz Swora: First and foremost, there is a need for a dialogue between energy regulators, experts, and agencies dealing with nuclear power and an exchange of experience in the field of economic regulation. What is essential here is that many ERRA countries have nuclear reactors, so exploring economic regulation is something ... Read More>>>
