Paul Constantinou has some 35+ years’ experience gained in the International Wholesale Energy and Financial Markets. In this time Paul has operated in a number of senior management and board advisory roles as a market practitioner, business consultant and technology supplier. He has over 15 years’ active and currently on going experience in global wholesale energy markets.

Paul was co-founder and then CEO of MTX Commodities until the end Q1 2021 where he had management responsibility for corporate development together with the consulting, training and system deployment project teams. Prior to this he had over 10 years from 2005 – 2016 with Trayport Limited, the market leading provider of trading technologies to the European energy markets where he was the Head of Sales and Market Development.

Paul has overseen the development of energy markets across the EU, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Australia and Mexico. As such Paul was responsible for the introduction of trading and market connectivity, including clearing integration technology, to 24 international energy and commodity markets, together with 5 international financial exchanges, operating in both cleared and bilateral mode. In addition to energy markets Paul has served as a Vice President at Bank of New York Europe and as a sales leader in a number of technology suppliers to the financial markets.

Paul is currently providing consultancy and advisory services to MTX Commodities and its clients. He is also President of the Association of Futures Markets (AFM) having held this office since 2017. Prior to this he served on the Board of the AFM from 2009.
