Gent is a Renewable Energy Technology engineer with thorough technical knowledge on energy generation and storage solutions. He is experienced in analyzing sustainable energy policies, regulation and economics in Kosovo, the Balkan region and EU. Moreover, he is experienced in analyzing sustainable energy businesses development, cost engineering, international bidding, and grant/project management. Gent is currently part of Optima Energy Consulting, where he is mainly focused on analyzing and drafting solutions for energy policy and regulatory issues in Kosovo. Such as modeling, the impact of RES competitive schemes to end user tariffs, creating tariff calculation tools, analyzing barriers to market liberalization etc. Gent’s experience includes coordinating various technical and non–technical teams to prepare and submit detailed tender dossiers for projects in large scale battery storage in the EMEA region as part of Tesla, Netherlands, with offers reaching up to $300 MM in price. Moreover, Gent is experienced in grant management and business development with international donors (USAID). As part of EMPOWER USAID (Kosovo), he worked closely with local private sector businesses engaged in renewable energy, energy efficiency and recycling, overseeing a portfolio of over 35 activities in the energy sector, which helped businesses create 439 new jobs. Gent holds a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the University of Pristina (Kosovo) and is in the final stages of his Masters in Sustainable Energy Technology at the University of Twente (Netherlands).
