CEA India Report on Transmission Plan for 500 GW RE by 2030

Since 2022, the installed electricity generating capacity in India was 409 GW including 166 GW of RE generating capacity (including large hydro), which is about 40% of the total installed electricity generating capacity in the country. India has envisaged to increase the non-fossil fuel based installed electricity generation capacity to 500 GW by 2030.

Strengthening interconnection between grids can enhance energy security and contribute to decarbonisation by allowing more flexibility in the system.  Particularly for interconnectors between grids in different jurisdictions, regulators’ roles in facilitating and regulating them can be complex, especially in cases where they operate in very different ways.

ACER-CEER Position on Anticipatory Investments

The conclusions of the 9th Energy Infrastructure Forum requested ACER and CEER to analyse key barriers and develop recommendations for national incentive schemes to promote anticipatory investment for the system integration of renewables.In this paper, ACER and CEER present findings based on two reviews of national regulatory frameworks (one in 2023 and another one in 2024) based on national regulatory authorities (“NRAs”) factual inputs and their views on the topic of anticipatory investments. Based on the findings, the report ends with several recommendations for regulators for national incentive schemes.

OGCI Paper: Results of OGCI Satellite Monitoring Campaign 2021 in Iraq & Campaign 2022-2023 over Kazakhstan, Algeria and Egypt

The Oil and Gas Climate Initiative (OGCI) launched a Satellite Monitoring Campaign in 2021 to take practical action to help reduce methane emissions from oil and gas operations, demonstrate the capability of satellite technology to detect and quantify methane in Iraq and provide information to local operations to help them reduce emissions. In 2022-2023, OGCI extended its flagship Satellite Monitoring Campaign (SMC) to Algeria, Kazakhstan and Egypt to support more countries taking practical action to reduce methane emissions from oil and gas operations.
